A very large percentage of the world’s population is not religious by virtue of either being atheist or relating themselves as being “spiritual” (the belief in God but not adherance to any particular religion or religious dogma).

The spiritualists are the least emotional about their beliefs, and as such, tend to be the most open minded with regard to individuals they know with similar beliefs converting to a specific religion.

Atheist, however, may hold strong anti-religious feelings, and tend to pressure family members against joining a religion or believing in the spirit world. While atheist families may reject another family member for choosing to believe in a god, violence against converts to religion is extremely rare.
